FKT: WFC?

Brace yourselves, this is a rant.

FKTs (Fastest Known Times). WFC (Who F*cking Cares).

It’s the running equivalent of the ‘selfie’ i.e. it’s been around for years, people have been doing them for ages and now all of a sudden it’s cool to put a tag on it.

Reinventing the wheel.

All you’re doing is running from point A to point B (or point A again) as fast as you can. There’s nothing new or trendy about that. Yet all of a sudden when you give it the ‘FKT’ tagline it becomes somehow more legitimate?!?

Boring.

Is it commercialism, yet again, trying to creep more and more into what is, and should be, the most simple sport going?? Maybe by labelling a run from oh, I dunno, Tavistock to Bude, as an ‘FKT’ you can impress some marketing moron in their office in London and gain some free shoes. Really?!? Is that what this is now??

No-one cares. Just flippin’ run.
